THE THREE GREAT FRIENDS; A DEMONSTRATION OF LOVE AND SACRIFICE.
I’m a Nigerian writer, and I love to write more on my immediate environment/surrounding. My passion for writing has become an indelible part of me. I’m writing this to portray the kind of relationship a group of pupils in my class had while undergoing my National Youth Service Corps at Wiseland Model School, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria.
I was a teacher, and I noticed each and every pupils reaction to details. These three pupils roll together, read together, virtually do all basic things together, infact, they always take the lead positions (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). I can tell you, they shared a very healthy relationship, and usually watch out for one another. This made me question myself if I had such friends while in elementary class, and while growing up. Do I? I don’t think.
I could remember a day one of them came to me, Owunoluwa and said “Uncle, Precious and Aishat are playing, they are not reading". With such act of love, I was moved to call the other girls and ask them why. And I felt so happy watching an 8-years old girl utter such statement of love, and care. They had a competitive relationship, academically, but a healthy one. Infact, I gave them a name “àrò méta" meaning “the three inseparable". Yes, they always have their differences, but they always settle it, before the closing hour.
They are not only bookworms, they also define the meaning of beauty. They are beautiful, intelligent, and reserved young girls. As we know, in Life, things don’t always go as planned, and life is full…
